Covid has not been kind to the hospitality trade and the changing situation has meant that the Bevy – just like pubs up and down the country – had events cancelled and people staying away in the lead up to Christmas, traditionally the busiest time of the year for pubs.
Now we need to make sure in the quietest months that we keep our heads above water. Which is why we are closing on Mondays (when we say closed we are still be serving meals on wheels and hosting the choir). This is a temporary measure.
However there’s still loads going on so here’s some suggestions on how you can support the Bevy.
We understand many people are nervous about coming to the pub. We have heated cabins you can hire and request table service. https://www.thebevy.co.uk/booking
Pop in for an evening meal. Our chef Marco is here Thursday to Sunday, make sure you book table for his famous roasts, in fact you can have a half price drink per person with every roast ordered during January- just quote this when placing your order ! https://www.thebevy.co.uk/booking/
Support our monthly market. Next date is the 29th of January, when there will be lots happening, including a committee member getting her head shaved!
Our Saturday night music will return later in the year. If you want to play get in touch.
Our Meals on Wheels continue (have we mentioned they are the best in the country), and if you are looking to volunteer in the New Year then how about helping us with delivering these meals?
Fancy meeting new friends and having a laugh? Then look no further than Friday Friends. For 50+ every well, Friday. Get in touch to find out more.
You can also support Brighton’s only community owned pub by hiring us. We are available for weddings, wakes, conferences, choirs, residents meetings, you name it. We can do bespoke menus and can also cater for your outside events.
Any donations are also extremely helpful, you can even set up a regular transfer if you want to do a good deed for the New Year! https://www.thebevy.co.uk/donate/
We are always open to new ideas so drop us a line.
Cheers and here’s looking forward to Spring!
