Live locally? Love the Bevy?
Could you support us in our planning application to have six seating pods in our pub garden? The pods will be timber framed running alongside the wall and fence with perspex roofs.
We would like you to comment on the online application please to tell us what you think (link below).
When we are allowed to open, having covered seating outside will allow more local people to enjoy our community pub, particularly during the winter months and when the weather's bad. These will have heating, lighting, maybe even wifi though probably not a disco ball. Most importantly they will give families a covid secure space when we are allowed to open again.
Some key notes from the application:
- The pods are similar to those found at numerous pub gardens across the city and are an increasingly expected feature of such establishments.
- It is acknowledged that the western pod would be sited adjacent to the street boundary. However, the existing boundary treatments (brick piers and timber fencing) and hedging would reduce any visual impact of the pods.
- The semi-enclosure of customers within the seating pods is likely to reduce any noise transference or movement around the pub garden to the benefit of our neighbours .
