Our Bevy Meals on Wheels service has been going strong since the end of March, and we’ve now delivered over 900 meals to some of the most vulnerable people in our community of Moulsecoomb and Bevendean – helping them eat well while they stay safe indoors, and taking the opportunity to check in and make sure they’re okay.
Here are a few examples of what we’ve been serving using delicious food from FareShare – surplus food which would otherwise have gone to waste, plus additional supplies thanks to the very kind donations we’ve received to help us deliver this service.
Chicken fricassee mash and veg
Roast Beef, roast potato, carrots, red cabbage
Chicken, root veg and lentil stew
Breaded chicken escalope, gravy, mash and carrots
Gammon and chicken pie, spuds, cabbage and peas
Salmon and cod fish pie with cauliflower and peas
--
Apricot or rhubarb crumble
Chocolate Brownies
Blueberry muffins
If you live in Moulsecoomb and Bevendean and would like to receive one of these meals, or know someone who would then please phone us on 01273 281009 and if you’d like to help support Bevy Meals on Wheels and pay for a meal for someone who couldn’t otherwise afford it, please give what you can via our donate page: https://www.thebevy.co.uk/donate/
